Background

Brock Edward Lesnar was born on July 12, 1977, in Webster, South Dakota, to Stephanie Lesnar and Richard Lesnar. Chad and Troy are his older brothers, and Brandi is his younger sister. He went to Webster High School and played football there. He competed in amateur wrestling during his senior year, finishing third in the state championships. Lesnar joined the World Wrestling Federation (W.W.F.) in 2000, which was rebranded ‘W.W.E.’ in 2002. His talents improved over the next two years, and he won the King of the Ring Tournament in 2002 after defeating well-known wrestlers like Bubba Ray Dudley and Rob Van Dam. He then defeated ‘W.W.E’s undisputed champion The Rock, claiming the title for himself at the age of 25, becoming the youngest ‘WWE’ champion ever. He retired from wrestling in 2004 to explore a career in the National Football League.Despite not having played football since high school and suffering an injury, he appeared in multiple preseason games with the Minnesota Vikings. He was later invited to play in the N.F.L. Europe, but he declined since he did not want to leave his country. In 2005, he competed in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. He triumphed, becoming one of the few American wrestlers to win the I.W.G.P. Heavyweight Championship. Lesnar revealed his intention to join K-1’s mixed martial arts league in 2006, and he began training at the Minnesota Martial Arts Academy shortly after. He soon signed a contract with K-1 and won his first fight against Min-Soo Kim. He was the new U.F.C. heavyweight champion after competing in U.F.C.-77, a popular mixed martial arts event. After successfully defending the championship against numerous wrestlers, he felt ill for a long time. His sickness was subsequently determined to be caused by mononucleosis. He returned to W.W.E. in 2012. In 2014, he faced John Cena for the World Heavyweight Championship, which he won. He defeated Bill Goldberg to win the W.W.E. Universal Championship in 2017. He became the first man in W.W.E. history to win both the Prime and the Universal Championships. Lesnar held the Universal Championship for more than 500 days after earning it in 2017, making it one of the longest world championship reigns in modern history. After losing the title to Roman Reigns after 504 days at SummerSlam, he won it back in 2018 after defeating Braun Strowman. In July 2019, he won his third Universal Championship after cashing in his contract against Seth Rollins at ‘Extreme Rules.’ In 2006, Brock Lesnar married Rena Greek. They have two sons named Turk and Duke. He also has twins from a previous relationship, a girl named Mya and a son named Luke.

  2. He’s close friends with Paul Heyman

Lesnar's rise to prominence was aided by Paul Heyman.

Why We Love Brock Lesnar

  1. He is a Box office star

Whether you like it or not, Lesnar is one of W.W.E's two biggest box office draws today. That is a fact. He moves the needle and receives the numbers. Furthermore, his first W.W.E. stint was a huge success, but we often forget that it lasted all but two years. Lesnar's current streak has lasted three times longer than his previous one!

  2. He’s a legitimate W.W.E. athlete

Lesnar's sporting prowess did not begin with the U.F.C. Have you ever wondered why he was the focus of W.W.E. in 1999? It's because he won the N.C.A.A. Heavyweight Wrestling Championship in Division I. That's an incredible achievement in college amateur wrestling, and it explains a lot about Lesnar's U.F.C. success.

  3. He’s a nice guy

Lesnar has previously worked with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Despite his quiet demeanor, he has taken time out on multiple occasions to meet and speak with children. In 2017, Lesnar paid a visit to Charlie, an 11-year-old boy who had been diagnosed with a blood condition and had been a long-time W.W.E. fan. Lesnar then took many photos with Charlie, spoke wrestling with him for a while, and even allowed the youngster to try out a few moves on him.
