Although he has German, Sicilian Italian, and Native American ancestry, Charles Trippy was born in Florida on September 2, 1984, in the town of Bradenton, where he grew up. His father played percussion in the Gregg Allman Band, and Trippy would frequently go on tour with the band as a boy. Trippy finished his early schooling at Lakewood Ranch High School. Later, he studied Communication Science at the University of South Florida, from which he received his degree.Although the daily vlogs didn’t begin until May 1, 2009, Trippy launched his YouTube channel, CTFxC, in 2008. As of 2020, Trippy’s daily vlogs have been going on for 11 years. His daily vlogging series, which he calls “Internet Killed Television,” documents his life with his now-wife Allie Marie Trippy (née Wesenberg), their pets, close friends, and family. In addition to his record for the ”Most Consecutive Daily Personal Video Blogs Posted on YouTube,” clinched in 2013, Trippy also owns the Guinness World Record for the “Longest-Running Video Blog Series on YouTube by Number of Episodes” with 3,653 vlogs posted from May 1, 2009, to May 1, 2019.Alongside his YouTube channel, Trippy continued his music career, which he started in 2001 as the bassist for the post-hardcore band, Funny Looking Kid. He traveled on the band’s Warped Tour in 2002 and 2003, before they disbanded in 2005. Trippy then joined We the Kings as its bass player in 2011. In 2013, the band recorded their debut studio album, “Somewhere Somehow.” The album debuted at position six on the Top Rock Albums rankings and position 44 on the Billboard 200.Following a seizure at the end of February 2012, Trippy was diagnosed with a benign Oligodendroglioma brain tumor. After the tumor was successfully removed, it returned in September 2013 and was identified as Anaplastic Oligodendroglioma, a type of brain cancer. To treat the final 5% of his second resection, Trippy began oral chemotherapy in October of the same year. He underwent a third brain operation in July 2020, in which specialists were able to completely eradicate the tumor; Trippy recorded and posted videos of his brain operations on his YouTube channel. In 2017, Trippy wedded Allie Marie Wesenberg.
