Comcast Cares Day, the country’s most prominent corporate charitable event, is one of the company’s most cherished traditions.It’s been an incredible journey over the years. About 200 Comcast staff members volunteered for Philadelphia Cares Day in 1996. In its current form, Comcast Cares Day debuted in 2001 after observing how much volunteer work resonated with staff members in the company’s hometown, and it just kept growing from there. Over the years Comcast Cares Day has had over one million volunteers from dozens of nations worldwide.Comcast N.B.C.Universal marked its 17th Comcast Cares Day on April 21, 2018, and reached the millionth volunteer milestone since its inception in 2001. Giving back to communities is central to Comcast N.B.C.Universal’s culture, and Comcast Cares Day is the company’s way of recognizing its employees’ dedication to improving communities daily. Comcast identified its one-millionth volunteer, Kyeshia Bates, a Comcast worker for seven years who worked on Detroit’s order fulfillment team to commemorate this significant achievement.
