Donny Osmond was born in Ogden, Utah on December 9, 1957. He was the seventh son of George Virl Osmond and Olive May. He has eight siblings in total. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in his childhood. His family origins go back to Wales’ Merthyr Tydfil. Osmond also had his own ham radio license in his youth, namely, KA7EVD.Osmond debuted in 1963 on “The Andy Williams Show,” singing “You Are My Sunshine.” He became a teen icon in the 1970s as a solo artist after his success as part of the “Osmonds.” He was one of the major “Cover Boy” stars for none other than the “Tiger Beat” and “16” magazines during this period.
