Get Organized Month 2025 – January 2025

Get Organized Month, or GO Month, is celebrated for the full month of January every year. It was established by The National Association of Productivity & Organizing Professionals (NAPO). Each year, it takes the form of a month-long campaign that promotes the advantages of consulting with an organizing or productivity professional. Leading an organized life is not easy because it requires a lot of foresight, planning, and time management skills. However, an organized life is the most effective when it comes to optimizing productivity, making time for leisure, and building a promising future.

History of Get Organized Month

The National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) is a group of professional organizers and consulters. They help individuals, families, and businesses plan and organize their lives to achieve their goals. In 1983, the Association started from a small living room in a Los Angeles flat. A group of women who had been offering organizing services met up to network and brainstorm ideas. At the time, offering consultation services was an emerging field; and so they decided to band together, share ideas, and support each other. The group decided to call themselves the Association of Professional Organizers (APO). In 1986, they changed their name to NAPO. NAPO held an annual conference on the topic “Success Through Organizing” in the same year in Los Angeles. In 1991, NAPO celebrated the first Get Organized Week. This was an annual event organized to help individuals, businesses, and schools to implement time management, organization, storage solutions, and productivity into their daily lives. In 2005, NAPO declared January as Get Organized Month. This event aimed to inspire a national public awareness campaign about organizing and productivity.Get Organized Month campaign was able to put into practice NAPO’s goal of inspiring individuals and businesses to optimize their time. NAPO has become the leading source for providing consultations with organizing and productivity professionals and also helping to enhance business connections, boost industry research, and maximize public awareness.
