In April 2016 N.C.A.A. Championship game, Allen helped Duke University win the game by scoring 16 points. Later on in his sophomore season, despite five fouls, he was one of the best offensive players in the A.C.C., averaging 21 points per game. In March 2021, Allen made a career-high four steals in a game against the Utah Jazz. In August 2021, he got traded again to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Sam Merrill.
