Melody Holt was born on November 11, 1985, in Brundidge, Alabama, United States, and raised by her African-American mother, Vanessa Rodgers Tracy. Her parents never married, and she did not speak to her father till she was a teenager. She graduated from Alabama A.&.M. University with a B.S. in English Language Arts.After graduating, Holt worked as an English teacher at a middle school, where she met her future husband, Martell Holt, and in early 2007, they began dating. A year later, on July 20, 2008, she married him, thus taking his name. They expanded their services to home restoration, cleaning, and expansion. They have four children together, a son Martell, and three daughters, Maliah, Malani, and Mariah.
