She is the middle child with an older sister and younger brother. Samuels graduated from Pleasantville High School as a salutatorian and decided to continue her studies in business law at Duquesne University with a full academic scholarship. However, her time there was brief, as she soon dropped out to move to Washington, D.C., to pursue her music career. Her musical aspirations were put on hold when she married former football player Chris Samuels in 2012. The couple settled in Potomac, Maryland, where she got the opportunity to join the reality T.V. show based in the same city.
