Mother Ocean Day is on May 10, and we are getting ready to celebrate this special day. Three-quarters of the Earth is covered by the ocean. It is in the ocean that the first organic life started. Rain, oxygen, climate, food, salt, other minerals, e.t.c. are all examples of gifts that we regularly get from the ocean. In short, life on Earth would not be possible without the blessing of the ocean. The ocean can also show its violent nature when needed. We are celebrating the day to appreciate these gifts that we receive.

History of Mother Ocean Day

Have you ever wondered what the Earth would be like without the ocean? How would life be, or would there even be life? Scientists are not sure how water came to Earth but they know it has been around for four billion years. The oceans have seen it all: the formation of continents, the day of creation, volcanic rage, tectonic plate battles, the split of continents, reptile evolution, extinction events, mammalian conquest, and human blunders and legends. It is one of the oldest things on Earth. It was there before humans came, and it will be there long after our time. The ocean is also an enigma that refuses to share its inner workings. We’ve explored higher percentages of cosmic bodies than we’ve explored the depths of the ocean. The ocean is the source of most of the oxygen that we breathe and the rain we get. Without the ocean, the climate as we know it today would not exist. Most of human history can be easily understood by understanding the sea routes we took in the past. Our explorations through the vast oceans increased our willpower and our drive to create and innovate. The ocean is also home to the largest ecosystem on Earth, with one-quarter of all life calling it home. Mother Ocean Day is a day dedicated to appreciating the importance of the oceans on our planet. The day was founded by the South Florida Kayak Fishing Club.

The next stage is to explore the depths. Yet again, please don't do this alone. Prioritize safety over adventure. Explore the depths as much as you can.

  3. Hot vents

Water coming out of the hydrothermal vents can be up to 750 degrees Fahrenheit.

  4. The longest mountain range

Why Mother Ocean Day is Important

  2. It promotes conservation efforts

We are polluting the oceans every day and we are threatening the oceanic ecosystem. We must protect the precious oceans and stop the pollution that we are causing.

  3. Life on Earth depends on it

Without the oceans, there would not be life as we know it today. Our climate and resources depend on the health of the Ocean.
