Today, women still march in cities worldwide each year to fight for equality, justice, and peace for all people, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, or gender identity.The United Nations General Assembly began celebrating March 8 as International Women’s Day in 1975. Furthermore, it became an official holiday celebrated in almost 100 countries worldwide in 2014. In 2018, National Women Support Women Day was created by Amy O’Donnell because she wanted to create an annual event that would pay tribute to influential women for their accomplishments in the arts, politics, business, and other fields.
