His music debut took place in 2009 when he formed a pop-rock band with his brothers and Ellington Ratliff, named R5. The group had a YouTube web series documenting their daily life and career, titled “R5 TV.” On September 5, 2009, the band released their first music video, “Without You.” Their first EP, “Ready Set Rock,” was released in March 2010.
