Sharon Rachel Levy, better known as Sharon Osbourne, was born in London, England, on October 9, 1952, to an Irish mother, Hope Arden, and father, Don Arden, a music promoter and rock and roll entrepreneur, and manager of rock group Black Sabbath. Arden fired Ozzy Osbourne and was furious when he discovered his daughter was dating the rocker and running Ozzy’s business. They reunited in 2001, and he starred in their reality show, “The Osbournes,” on M.T.V. The show premiered in early 2002, and followed the family’s daily life, drawing a national audience. The show brought Osbourne celebrity status. She is often credited as the person who negotiated with M.T.V. to air the show, catapulting her husband from heavy metal icon to mainstream celebrity. I.T.V. in the United Kingdom commissioned a new chat show in 2006, initially titled “Mrs. Osbourne Presents” but later shortened to “The Sharon Osbourne Show.” Osbourne reportedly agreed to a £2 million deal with I.T.V. In 2006, she became the mentor for the 25-and-overs on “The X Factor” and chose Ben Mills, Dionne Mitchell, Robert Allen, and Kerry McGregor.In the second season of “America’s Got Talent,” Osbourne joined the judging panel alongside Piers Morgan and David Hasselhoff.
