He is the founding member and lead singer of the famous R&B group of the 1990s, Dru Hill. The group derived its name from Druid Hill Park, the neighborhood where the four members of the band had grown up. Before starting his musical career with Dru Hill, Sisqo initially supported himself by working at The Fudgery in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. He graduated from Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical High School in 1994, and shortly afterward, he began a career in music. Throughout his high school years, Sisqo started to experiment with flashy fashion choices such as bleached hair and eccentric clothing.Sisqo’s solo career began in 1999, after one of the group’s members, Woody, left Dru Hill to pursue a solo career. Later, the other members decided to follow Woody’s path and release their solo albums. Sisqo himself released his debut album, “Unleash the Dragon” (1999). ‘Thong Song’ and ‘Incomplete’ are two of the album’s most successful songs. Both of these songs debuted at number three and number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, respectively. The album sold over five million copies in the United States (U.S.) alone. In 2001, he released another album, “Return of the Dragon,” as well as several singles and mixtapes. Sisqó rejoined Dru Hill in 2002 when the group released their third L.P. later that year. Due to the underperformed album, the group was terminated from their recording contract. However, he continued to go on tour during the 2010s, as a member of Dru Hill and as a solo singer. In 2015, he came up with his third solo album, “Last Dragon,” with the single ‘L.I.P.s’ sitting at number 23 on the U.S. Adult R&B charts.As an actor, he has appeared in movies like the 2001 comedy “Get Over It” and “Snow Dogs,” along with Cuba Gooding Jr. In 2008 and 2010, Sisqo was a contestant on two television shows, “Gone Country” and “Celebrity Big Brother 2010.” Sisqo has won numerous awards, including five M.T.V.
