He was the N.B.A. columnist for the Philadelphia 76ers when soon got the chance to become a general sports columnist. In April 2005, Smith became a radio host on WEPN. In August that year, he began hosting “Quite Frankly with Stephen A. Smith” on E.S.P.N. After the show’s cancellation, Smith served as an N.B.A. analyst and left E.S.P.N. in 2009. He returned to E.S.P.N. in February 2011 as a columnist for their website and weekday radio show host. In 2012, he joined “First Take” as a commentator, and in late 2014 signed a multi-year deal worth $3 million yearly with E.S.P.N. In 2019, after E.S.P.N. became the U.F.C.’s T.V. broadcaster, Smith became a U.F.C. commentator.Although Smith has an enviable career, he keeps his personal life behind the scenes.
