She’s the youngest child of Jesse and Juanita Tucker. She was raised in Wilcox, Arizona, for the better part of her childhood. The only radio station Tucker listened to played country music, and this stirred her interest in the genre. At age eight, she wanted to be a country music singer.In May 1972, Tucker released her first single, ‘Delta Dawn.’ The single was a hit and peaked at number six on the country music chart. In 1975, Tucker signed with M.C.A. Records and released one hit single after another. In 1978, Tucker dropped her ninth studio album, “TNT.” The singer drastically changed her image that year and the album went gold in 1979. By 1986, Tucker signed a record deal with Capitol Records. In 2002, she founded Tuckertime Records, and in 2009, she released her 24th studio album, “My Turn.” Tucker is a fantastic singer and songwriter.
