He was born in Parma, Ohio, on October 8, 1980, and is a Libra. Mizanin’s parents divorced as he was growing up, and his mother remarried, giving him two half-siblings and a stepfather. He soon attended Normandy High School; after graduation, he attended Miami University and studied business at the Richard T. Farmer School of Business. However, it was not long before Mizanin dropped out to appear in the 10th season of MTV’s “The Real World.”Mizanin appeared in several episodes of “The Real World” spinoff, “Real World/Road Rules Challenge.” He completed all challenges except Battle of the Sexes 2, emerging victorious in Battle of the Seasons and The Inferno 2. He displayed his alter ego, The Miz, on “The Real World.” In 2003, Mizanin joined Ultimate Pro Wrestling, making his in-ring debut the same year. By 2004, he appeared on Bravo’s “Battle of the Network Reality Stars” and finished in second place. That same year, he signed with the W.W.E., debuting on the main roster in 2006. Mizanin also contested in “Fear Factor’s” reality stars episode and won the contest with his former castmate and ex-girlfriend, Trishelle Cannatella.
