He is a Pisces of South Korean descent, and his interest in music developed early.In August 2014, Wonho was part of a boy band called ‘Nu Boyz,’ with three other artists. The group was created under Starship Entertainment and performed at the Starship X opening show in December of the same year. In partnership with Mnet, Starship launched a competition called ‘No Mercy,’ in which Wonho participated. He got selected in the show’s final episode, alongside six others, to join the new hip-hop boy group, ‘Monsta X,’ and by May 2015, the band debuted their first extended play, ‘Trespass.’Besides being a vocalist, Wonho assumed the songwriter role in this group in 2017. By 2019, he had left Monsta X, and in April 2020, was signed to Highline Entertainment as a solo artist. Wonho released his first solo album, Love Synonym #1: Right for Me, in September 2020. He held his first solo concert online a few weeks later. On February 26, 2021, Wonho released the second part of his EP titled “Love Synonym #2: Right for Us.” Multiple tracks from this EP debuted on Billboard’s “World Digital Song Sales” chart. Wonho released another EP and many more singles. He has an impressive discography and shares his success with his family as he’s currently single.
